I believe this will be my fourth summer in Vegas and each year I seem to play more and more tournaments. I actually should be playing even more than I have planned but between not wanted to be out there forever and not playing the whole time when my girlfriend visits, I think I have the rest of my time booked tight. Here is my tentative schedule of events:6/8/2013 wsop event 17 $15006/9/2013 wsop event 18 $10006/11/2013 wsop event 21 6max $30006/13/2013 wsop event 24 $15006/15/2013 wsop event 28 $15006/16/2013 wsop event 30 $10006/19/2013 wsop event 34 turbo $10006/20/2013 wsop event 36 SO $15006/21/2013 wsop event 38 4max $25006/22/2013 wsop event 40 $15006/23/2013 wsop event 42 $10006/24/2013 wsop event 44 $30006/27/2013 wsop event 49 $15007/1/2013 wsop event 56 $2500 Total: $240007/8/2013 Main Event $10000 So about 15 tournaments overall which isn't a ton but still more than I've played previous years... Take the Girah scandal, casino bonus scandal, and Fair Play Technology to name a few. But serious questions are now swirling about their solvency. Payouts to U.S. customers have been taking 3-5 months lately. I know the U.S. payment processor environment makes speedy cashouts tough, but some of their competitors have been making it work for some time. But I wouldn't dwell on that too much since Full Tilt was able to make zippy U.S. cashouts partly due to their bank fraud... Thu, 09 May 2013 17:46:26 -0400 Fox: Vegas Summer Tournaments http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101027/?t=pxf A few people have asked about my summer schedule and asked advice about what they should be playing when they go out to the World Series of Poker. I set my own schedule a few weeks ago, covering as many mixed game events as possible in the 31 days I’ll be in Vegas, with some no-limit events at the Rio, mostly $1,500 bracelet events. If you, like most players, won’t be in Vegas for more than a week or two, you’ll want to make the most of your time in town and you’ll be hoping to make some money... Thu, 09 May 2013 13:24:39 -0400 sheets: Chat sched for this week...... http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101026/?t=pxf Another HS reg hh review.....these are rellly good btw, Thats tomorrow at 2... Live sweat is likely for wed at 11. e Tue, 07 May 2013 01:44:03 -0400 beanmo: Nevada = The First Domino http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101025/?t=pxf Legal regulated online poker in the U.S. arrived today for those in Nevada at UltimatePoker. It's name is associated with UFC not Ultimate Bet. A questionable name choice for those of us in the know online poker-wise, but probably a fine name for the masses. I’ll be interested to see much traction this site gets. Any Nevada-based PXFers should definitely report on how it goes. There's sure to be some hiccups initially, but cashout/deposit concerns will be a thing of the past. The early rake schedule appears to be reasonable and in line with industry standards... Tue, 30 Apr 2013 16:32:35 -0400 doubledave22: Nice job Nevada http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101024/?t=pxf As I am sure some of you have seen, Nevada just released their software "Ultimate Poker" which is the first legal US poker site to appear. I don't know about you guys, but I am really excited about this. As of right now you can download it and at least watch if you aren't located in Nevada. Make sure to not have anything like teamviewer running else it won't let you launch (funny enough if you load up teamviewer after you launch, it doesn't know). It does seem they are very strict about location spoofing... Tue, 30 Apr 2013 02:15:43 -0400 Gutshtallin: So close I can feel it... http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101022/?t=pxf Its been awhile since my last blog and theres not much of an excuse I can give. Since my bustout deep in the Caesars main event Ive been working hard on my game. I bricked Bay 101 after a really sick hand where I folded a flopped 8hi flush vs a random old lady and got shown a massively overplayed set :/ Never recovered from that. Then was the Wynn Series. I played a couple events and never got too much going until the 2k event. I was top 3 in chips going to day 2 of that event and became the massive chipleader as we got to the final table... Tue, 23 Apr 2013 00:22:23 -0400 doubledave22: Putting myself out there http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101020/?t=pxf This whole blog post may come out as a giant brag but I don't care. A lot of what I have been doing lately has involved going into places where I literally know nobody. For example I've been itching to play soccer so I did some research and found an indoor league nearby. They don't place people on teams so I had to just show up and ask around until I found a team that needed a player. Fortunately the team I joined actually works with one of my close friends at Campbells soup. I did well enough the first game and they asked me join their team... Mon, 15 Apr 2013 19:38:38 -0400 doubledave22: The Whole30 http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101018/?t=pxf As many of you know I have become a bit of a health nut lately. You probably could have figured this out by either watching my video series "Health and Poker" or just simply seeing that video title. In the series I did my best to explain some of the ways to stay healthy in general but also specifically as a poker player. I feel I did a reasonable job explaining my diet and exercise plan and the reasons why. As with poker, with health there is always room for improvement. I have been getting into crossfit a bit more lately and they stress the Paleo Diet... The past weekend I was able to finally meet my nephew who happens to be the first of hopefully many additions to my family. He is nearing 8 weeks old and is absolutely adorable. My sister called me in a somewhat panic last week because her husband had to travel for work and nobody else was planning to visit to help out for the weekend. Fortunately, she has an un-employed brother who can drop everything on a moments notice to save the day(s)... My apologies. Other projects have taken up my time lately and this is the busiest time of the year for the Mid-States Poker Tour, so my job as their ambassador has kept me on the road a lot lately. I'm still playing, still grinding, and still paying the bills, mostly playing live games and live tournaments. I'm also still writing a column for Bluff every month and finding time for the podcast every week. Add in my gig with Grinder U doing seminars and strategy, and pile some private students on top of that, and I don't seem to have a free moment... Sat, 16 Mar 2013 19:49:57 -0400 doubledave22: Mid-game Leakfinders http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101011/?t=pxf As some of you may have seen, the first segment of my mid-game analysis just came out. I had a few submissions and I wanted to let you know that if you submitted I did use your hand histories! I actually just had more content than I thought so I had to break things into two separate series. The first three part series is actually all hands from the player Mountino. I go into a lot of detail in each hand specifical hypothetic things to consider in these mid-game situations. As for the second mid-game leakfinder series I covered hand histories from NZMaestro and Myke23... Wed, 13 Mar 2013 13:40:38 -0400 sheets: Chat Schedule for this week http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101010/?t=pxf Today I will be reviewing a deep tcoop run, using the holdem resources analyzer to check for mistakes....Tomorrow will be the usual live sweat. 2pm today 11 pm tomorrow. Tue, 12 Mar 2013 07:59:49 -0400 beanmo: Request for Leakfinder Hand Histories http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101009/?t=pxf It's been a while since I've done any Leakfinder videos and I'd like to open that back up to everyone here again. It's always a nice change of pace to look at hand histories other than my own. The different lines/approaches to the game often let me learn as well.Since I'm limited in the sites I can play on, I'm looking for you guys to submit your hand histories for leakfinder videos. Any HHs from Stars, Full Tilt, Party or other non-U.S. facing sites would be great. But I don't want to shut out you U... Fri, 08 Mar 2013 17:09:44 -0500 AJKHoosier1: I'm engaged! http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101008/?t=pxf Hey guys,"Long time no blog," blah blah etc etc. Done making excuses, and I think everyone has come to know and love the fact that this blog is inconsistent at best :D It's just the way it is! I will continue to keep up my attention on the forums and video-making, but the blog clearly struggles from time to time. I'm not the type to talk about myself, which doesn't really help much... However I do actually have some exciting news - I got engaged last Saturday to my girlfriend (now fiance) Sylvia, who I've been with for a little over four years... Tomorrow will be a live sweat,,,, sheets Tue, 05 Mar 2013 10:59:33 -0500 beanmo: Well Done Jersey http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101006/?t=pxf Governor Christie just signed off on a bill that legalizes online gambling in New Jersey. It's pure speculation on how long it will take before games are live. I've seen guesses of this summer/fall to 18-24 months from now. The pessimistic 18-24 months timeframe came from Gary Loveman (Caesar's CEO) which is disconcerting. I'm just hoping he's off here. But I also have my doubts that cards will be in the air for 2013. All in all though still a great day. The coming months should be fun to watch as we figure out which state will join in compacts with NJ and Nevada... Unfortunately, the results Ive been looking for have come up a bit short. I ended up getting 20th out of 744 runners in the WSOP-C Caesars main event. First was over 220k and I lost the chiplead pot with 20 left with t9ss all in on a qj5ss flop. I turned an 8 and rivered a spade but that still wasnt good enough to win the pot. A very wild old man decided to ship over the top of me with no fold equity with the nut flush draw. I regretted not just shoving all in on the flop instead of putting in half my stack because some players don't really understand fold equity unless you are all in... Tue, 19 Feb 2013 10:52:56 -0500 doubledave22: NJ Poker Update http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101002/?t=pxf As many of you have probably read by now, Christie has decided to conditionally veto the NJ online gambing bill. When I woke up the morning of the 7th the only thing I didn't want to see was a full out veto since then the whole thing would be completely reset. The second I saw early word of a conditional veto I got excited. After talking with a few friends they felt this was actually bad news and that it would delay things considerably still. For a few hours there I went back and forth between feeling great about tweets I was seeing, and then feeling unsure after talking to my friends... Tue, 12 Feb 2013 14:41:09 -0500
