Fox's Blog http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/fox 1326696231 The Tournament Trail http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/100744/?t=pxf I'll be making the video preview for live tournaments during February and March in a few days, so if you know of an interesting tournament series in your area, please let me know about it. Anything with multiple tournaments with buy-ins larger than $200 or any single event $1,000 or larger would be of interest. Speaking of tournaments, my pal Bryan Mileski runs the Mid States Poker Tour, and they are kicking a***, with a ton of $1,100 events this year and huge guarantees. Check them out at msptpoker... Mon, 16 Jan 2012 01:43:51 -0500 Some great Interviews http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/100738/?t=pxf Piling up interviews for the Under The Gun podcast this week, with the next three episodes already covered. We interviewed Kristin from Poker Refugees this week and learned about the process a potential client goes through to move to another country to play online poker. It was great stuff. I also did an interview with top limit holdem pro Palamino, a monster player and a great interview! We'll also be interviewing out favorite live tournamnet director this week, and Brian Mileski, CEO of the quickly growing Mid States Poker Tour drops by... Fri, 06 Jan 2012 20:26:50 -0500 Happy Holidays!! http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/100726/?t=pxf We have a little bit of good news for the holiday, the Department of Justice has decided that the Wire Act of 1961 doesn't apply to online poker. We already knew that, and the idea that it would apply is ridiculous, but the DoJ does what they want regardless of the law all too frequently, and it's good news that they appear to be backing away from their attacks on online poker. Now that allof the real competition has been swept out of the way, and the government is changing it's position, we may see things moving forward in the coming months... Sat, 24 Dec 2011 01:00:57 -0500 Friday Update http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/100704/?t=pxf Yeah, I missed a Friday immediately after I announced that I was going to blog every Friday. I'll try to be better about making it happen every week. In PXF news, I have more of my Poker Math video series coming as well as a monthly tournament update to help you plan for any tournaments in your area or anything you that might be worth traveling to. More heads up videos coming next month. My week was lame, made a few hundred playing the $5-60 spread limit game here in Minnesota but definitely made some mistakes playing too many hands and taking too many risks in the first few rounds before I had time to feel out the table... Fri, 02 Dec 2011 20:02:29 -0500 A quick correction http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/100685/?t=pxf In our interview with Mathew 'mjw006' Wakeman, I mistakenly identified him as a PokerStars Pro. I knew that Mathew was talking to stars or workingwith them in some capacity, but I forgot to ask him during the interview what his actual status was, and I assumed he was one of their pros. He will certainly make a fine pro for someone soon! His actual status is somewhere in limbo, though he says he plays primarily on Stars and hopes to be a PokerStars Pro in the near future. We wish him the best of luck! Mon, 14 Nov 2011 18:21:20 -0500 Weekly Updates http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/100682/?t=pxf I've decided Friday will be blog day for me from now on. I may have occasional other updates, but a blog every Friday to recap the week will help insure that I post every week. Starting next week, I will recap my week, the upcoming podcasts and any other PXF stuff I've done as well as whatever I'm thinking about for the upcoming week. I might even try to create a form that I can fill out for myself to make sure I don't forget anything. Which leads me to my first question. Is there anything you, as a pxf sub, want to see in a weekly blog post? This week Hatfield was out of town playing Deep Stacks at the Venetian... Sat, 12 Nov 2011 13:31:12 -0500 Headed to Hammond http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/100665/?t=pxf We still have a few tournaments left in our series here at Canterbury Park, but I'm headed to the Horseshoe in Hammond Indiana as soon as our $1,100 Main event is done this weekend. The series has been a bust for me so far, losing every race possible, but I think I'm still playing well, so I can't turn down a chance to play some more big tournaments when they are only about seven hours from home. The schedule of events is here - http://www.wsop.com/tourney/tourneydetails.asp?groupID=836I would like to be there for Monday, but I will definitely be there for Tuesday night's HORSE event and the awesome stimulus event on Wednesday at noon if I'm out of the HORSE event... Thu, 13 Oct 2011 19:41:30 -0400 Tournament Season http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/100651/?t=pxf In the fall in Minnesota, we have changing leaves, a sense of impending doom as winter looms on the horizon, and tournamnet season. We just finished up with the Midwest Poker Classic at Running Aces, and now we're in the middle of the Fall Poker Classic at Canterbury Park. This means three weeks of nothing but tournaments, taking a day off each week to record the podcast and sneaking students in whenever I can. Thanks to all of those students to being patient and working around my schedule by the way, things will be back to normal soon... Fri, 07 Oct 2011 18:19:59 -0400 Fill in the ______ http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/100639/?t=pxf We need some feedback from our subscribers, and we aren't getting much in the way of email for the podcast, so I thought this would be a fun way to try and get you involved! Please feel free to answer these in the comments here on the blog, or email us at utgpodcast@gmail.com. 1. I wish the Under The Gun Podcast would interview _________ on the show soon. 2. When UTG interviews someone, I would like to hear more about ________ .3. If I could add one feature to the UTG Podcast, it would be _________ ... Tue, 20 Sep 2011 14:36:56 -0400 Weekly Update http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/100636/?t=pxf We're working on this week's podcast already, and just booked Adam Small, cofounder of pocketfives.com as an interview for this week. Also started recording my video for the month last night, going very well so far, and I think the new style will make a lot of people happy. It's been a great couple weeks for me, winning every cash session I play, which is a nice change from what seemed like losing every day in August. I have started working on my article for Poker Pro for next month on exactly that subject... Tue, 13 Sep 2011 17:41:25 -0400
