Doubledave22's Blog http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/doubledave22 1368561199 My 2013 WSOP Schedule http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101030/?t=pxf I have everything set and ready for the 2013 WSOP. I believe this will be my fourth summer in Vegas and each year I seem to play more and more tournaments. I actually should be playing even more than I have planned but between not wanted to be out there forever and not playing the whole time when my girlfriend visits, I think I have the rest of my time booked tight. Here is my tentative schedule of events:6/8/2013 wsop event 17 $15006/9/2013 wsop event 18 $10006/11/2013 wsop event 21 6max $30006/13/2013 wsop event 24 $15006/15/2013 wsop event 28 $15006/16/2013 wsop event 30 $10006/19/2013 wsop event 34 turbo $10006/20/2013 wsop event 36 SO $15006/21/2013 wsop event 38 4max $25006/22/2013 wsop event 40 $15006/23/2013 wsop event 42 $10006/24/2013 wsop event 44 $30006/27/2013 wsop event 49 $15007/1/2013 wsop event 56 $2500 Total: $240007/8/2013 Main Event $10000 So about 15 tournaments overall which isn't a ton but still more than I've played previous years... Tue, 14 May 2013 15:53:19 -0400 Nice job Nevada http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101024/?t=pxf As I am sure some of you have seen, Nevada just released their software "Ultimate Poker" which is the first legal US poker site to appear. I don't know about you guys, but I am really excited about this. As of right now you can download it and at least watch if you aren't located in Nevada. Make sure to not have anything like teamviewer running else it won't let you launch (funny enough if you load up teamviewer after you launch, it doesn't know). It does seem they are very strict about location spoofing... Tue, 30 Apr 2013 15:21:15 -0400 Putting myself out there http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101020/?t=pxf This whole blog post may come out as a giant brag but I don't care. A lot of what I have been doing lately has involved going into places where I literally know nobody. For example I've been itching to play soccer so I did some research and found an indoor league nearby. They don't place people on teams so I had to just show up and ask around until I found a team that needed a player. Fortunately the team I joined actually works with one of my close friends at Campbells soup. I did well enough the first game and they asked me join their team... Mon, 22 Apr 2013 15:41:20 -0400 The Whole30 http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101018/?t=pxf As many of you know I have become a bit of a health nut lately. You probably could have figured this out by either watching my video series "Health and Poker" or just simply seeing that video title. In the series I did my best to explain some of the ways to stay healthy in general but also specifically as a poker player. I feel I did a reasonable job explaining my diet and exercise plan and the reasons why. As with poker, with health there is always room for improvement. I have been getting into crossfit a bit more lately and they stress the Paleo Diet... Tue, 09 Apr 2013 13:30:15 -0400 Meet my Nephew! http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101015/?t=pxf I am sure there are plenty of parents out there who will read this and laugh but I must say I have gained a new level of respect for anyone who raised a child. The past weekend I was able to finally meet my nephew who happens to be the first of hopefully many additions to my family. He is nearing 8 weeks old and is absolutely adorable. My sister called me in a somewhat panic last week because her husband had to travel for work and nobody else was planning to visit to help out for the weekend. Fortunately, she has an un-employed brother who can drop everything on a moments notice to save the day(s)... Thu, 28 Mar 2013 13:08:41 -0400 Mid-game Leakfinders http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101011/?t=pxf As some of you may have seen, the first segment of my mid-game analysis just came out. I had a few submissions and I wanted to let you know that if you submitted I did use your hand histories! I actually just had more content than I thought so I had to break things into two separate series. The first three part series is actually all hands from the player Mountino. I go into a lot of detail in each hand specifical hypothetic things to consider in these mid-game situations. As for the second mid-game leakfinder series I covered hand histories from NZMaestro and Myke23... Wed, 13 Mar 2013 13:40:38 -0400 NJ Poker Update http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101002/?t=pxf As many of you have probably read by now, Christie has decided to conditionally veto the NJ online gambing bill. When I woke up the morning of the 7th the only thing I didn't want to see was a full out veto since then the whole thing would be completely reset. The second I saw early word of a conditional veto I got excited. After talking with a few friends they felt this was actually bad news and that it would delay things considerably still. For a few hours there I went back and forth between feeling great about tweets I was seeing, and then feeling unsure after talking to my friends... Tue, 12 Feb 2013 14:41:09 -0500 NJ Poker Legislation http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/101000/?t=pxf Time is drawing near and I am getting pretty anxious waiting for gov Chris Christie to decide on the NJ online gambling bill. For a long time I was really optimistic about him signing it, but then recently when interviewed about the bill, he voiced a few concerns leaving us worried. He was worried about a new generation of problem gamblers as well as potentially drawing away people from the physical casinos. Both of those issues have been addressed quite vigilantly by the PPC as well as many others which is one upside... Wed, 06 Feb 2013 13:39:59 -0500 Borgata Main part 2 http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/100998/?t=pxf ***Note*** If you are viewing this from the front page you will probably click on this post first. If that is the case go back and read my Borgata Main part 1 post right before this.Ok so at this point I have around 25k chips from a 30k stack which is annoying but totally find. I just told myself that I was down to 22k really fast in the 2012 WSOP Main and still managed a great run so losing chips early is just a minor setback. Speaking of the 2012 WSOP Main I again had a player Roland Isr.... something I can't remember at my table... Thu, 31 Jan 2013 14:55:41 -0500 Borgata Main part 1 http://www.pokerxfactor.com/problog/view/100997/?t=pxf The Borgata winter poker series just ended which included a $3500 main event. I really wanted to do well so I focused hard and wrote down some details about every key hand. First of all when I got to my table and the clock began nobody else showed up. I was able to collect the blinds for about 10-12 hands before I finally got an opponent. The media apparently found this interesting and took a pic and got my name: I was off to a good start, but once the table began filling that quickly ended. The first player showed up to my direct left which was a shame especially since he literally would not fold a single hand... Thu, 31 Jan 2013 13:28:03 -0500
