Vegas so far

The WSOP is here and I am three weeks into playing. The past three years I had managed to not cash a single event but this year I have three cashes so far. In my defense I had never put a few summer's worth of volume in previous years so that may have something to do with it. Also I was playing online at the time and found live to be incredibly boring in comparison. That said, this year does seem to be different. I have been paying attention as much as possible and really taking every tournament and every hand seriously. Early on this year I was making a fair amount of mistakes but many of them have definitely been ironed out quite a bit.

My biggest leak coming here was that I simply just wasn't folding. I didn't believe anyone and would make calls that required my opponents to check down multiple streets and then fold to a bet of mine. Once I cut that out I found myself doing way better. Each tournament this year I have seemed to find at least some chips. In the past I would say start with 4500 chips, lose a few small hands by c-betting and folding, then get to 75/150 or 100/200 with 20 big blinds and lose an all in. This year I've found really good spots to pick up chips and then I don't have to be all in as often which is nice.

I've taken a few frustrating beats deep so far or didn't get there with a big draw but at least I've managed to log a few cashes. I feel like I am finally gaining some quality live experience and I definitely feel more comfortable at the tables than I did in previous years.

I have a few more small events left as well as the main so anything can still happen.
